Question How much cash?

I'm just curious on what is the most cash you had pre-sear in the game?? I think at most i had close to $250 and that was because i made the dumb mistake of selling all of my Bones and skeletal Limbs. That was a bad move I know.

ALso along with this is how is it that all of these people out in pre-sear have clan capes?? At $2000 I am missing something!! Is there a place post-sear where you get capes, and are these people just new members of a guild that already has capes??

Thanks
Sitruc

I usually have around 700 gold going into post-sear. I don't go until I'm 7th level and have done every quest I can.

As to capes, I've heard a rumor that if you bought your guild cape in the first day it was still the beta price (200 gold I think). If you waited until after that, they streamed in a fix that made it 2,000.

Also, remember that all of your characters are in the same guild. So if I stop playing my main, and start a new character it will be in that guild and have that cape at level 1.

I got my cape for 100g soon after the preview event started. What sucks is I would like to change the hem design, but to do that I would have to spend 2k gold just as if I was getting a new cape. I can't really complain though LOL.

I suspect that all the capes are on peoples 2nd,3rd and 4th characters. Some people have been playing almost non stop since the 28th.

My 1st char had a cape the first day of the launch (well 2 days if you count the pre-order time).

It is not tough to grind cash pre-sear just boring
You learn where the mobs and garbage cans reside and just break the stuff down you dont want/ need.

I was level 9 with a cape, all my armor, tons of resources and 800 gold to boot when I jumped into the PVP part of the PvE game.

I had 2200 gold with my second character because I spent alot of time helping new people with their quests, getting a ton of dropped weapons and salvaged goods to sell. Not to mention the dye, people are friggin dying(pun intended) for that stuff, and for what reason? To be cool. I still have 3 orange, a green and a yellow I'm trying to get rid of, noone wants it. EVERYONE wants the uber-1337 black and silver dyes though. Hell, I even took some orange and yellow, mixed them to make gold, and people started in saying that it doesnt exist blah blah blah. Sorry, this turned into a dye post, and it was supposed to be about how much money I had. Well, I just sold good items from Charr northlands to other players for what they're worth, and sold cheapo items that came almost too easily to the merchants. Soloing was a great way to get money and weapons too, you didn't have to share. Level 8's can handle any part of pre-searing alone with no problems.

I had $2,633 in pre-searing. Only pick up blue items or decent weapons you can sell quickly. In any area, there is a dominant collector's item, grab em all and sell the one inventory slot for decent cash. Pre-sear is full of people that don't know the value of anything (nor should they).

When you sell, advertise the price you want and aim high. You will spend way too long selling that 7-10 damage sword if you ask for PM's or whispers. Remember who your target consumers are.....they're new....they don't know how to price things so do it for them. Someone advertises an item and asks for a PM, LOWBALL them! If they laugh at you, tell them to quit wasting your time advertising for offers if they know what the value is. (BTW, learn the value of things quickly or you'll do something stupid or get taken advantage of)

As far as I know, not everyone in a guild has to purchase a cape. Basically the guild pays 2000 for a cape design, and then everyone in the guild gets it. So if you are part of a guild that has purchased their cape, you have one. And all of your characters have them.

I took a ranger all the way to Level 9 before moving on...6,546 in gold...I spent a lot of time pharming (mostly for dye)...The only problem was after the academy, VERY low xp for creatures...before the academy 0xp for most...the bull still gave a bit, but took so long to kill it was not worth it.

Wow, most I ever had going into post was 700, and I always aim for level 9.

I am a grinder too, but I tend to hold on to things like dye for sale in post. I don't trade either, simply because I have no idea what to ask. I don't know the values of most things (ok, dyes, but that's cause I sould 2 black dye for 1100 to the dye trader)

My question about mixing dyes is that if you sell them in post, are they worth more? For example, gold would be incredibly rare because I would think a lot of people are like me and forget to mix colours.

As to getting gold in pre-searing, mark out what are "collectible" items (liked Baked Husks and Skale Fins) and then load up on them. If you only turn in 5 fins for the pouch, and then for nothing else, you can easily get 1k gold or more.

I had 1.300 gold when I joined the academy. I didn't trade, but solved all quests which required a bit of wandering. I also sold all materials apart from cloth.

I spend all the money right away on a new set of armor, plus materials for it.
